A tiny number of things really REALLY bug me about this site !
Two similar ones relate to navigation -
-1- Add To Favorites - WHY once I've added a game to my faves, does the system think I then want to GO to my faves ? Invariably I DON'T - I'm probably sitting looking at a list of games, and decided one was worthy of an add, and THEN I want to continue AT THAT list of games. Couldn't it just do the add then leave me where I was ? (perhaps even refreshing where I was, so then I'll see "remove from.." instead of "Add to.." for that game, so I know it has worked!).
-2- When I Rate a game I'm then given the choice of Return to the Category or Return to the Forum. Well, that's ok IF I rated the game FROM a Category, but NOT if I finish playing a game then (sensibly!) choose to rate it at THAT point. . I can then return to the "category", but as often as not I'd really like to simply "Play Again", or at least return to the exact game I was on..... but I can't. 
(BTW, I wonder is it possible to rate a game direct from the Forum somewhere ??? - If not, why the 'return to Forum' bit ?)
To overcome these I've taken to using "Open Link in New Window" for both, then once done I can kill the resulting window and carry on from where I was, but I don't feel one should have to do this. (Perhaps this is PARTLY the reason so few people seem to bother Rating games ?) |

Good suggestion!
As for the rating system, it's best if the rate option is at the end of the game. This way the game has to be played BEFORE it can be rated. If it wasn't this way then we'd have ratings that may not show how good/bad a game is. The return to forum link is so that if the game is buggy then they have the option of coming here to make the bugs know.

No argument about that. I was simply referring to the two different places where one is ALLOWED to rate a game - and then specifically if you DO choose to rate it after playing it, then there is no direct way BACK to play it again.... or to then check the hi scores for it, or ANYTHING to do with that game.

Ok, that's reasonable, but then it should say GO to forum - as Return implies one has already been there.

| Great tips, I'm going to go over all of this in detail and see what I can do. There are some wonky bits here, will be nice to fix them up. Post more in this thread if there are related issues... |

A bit of progress...
Adding or removing a favorite from a category page now returns you to the same category page. Similarly removing favorites from the Favorites page returns you to the Favorites page.
And on ratings, it now has link options for the Game or the Category. |

Almost great but ... -1- The "Add" from category SEEMS to work, but then... I check my Faves and it aint in there!? .. and then ....
-2- If I then try "Delete" same item, still from category page, it takes me to I dunno WHERE!
Details below, if needed:
Example for test:

I then choose Water Lilies, and click ADD... getting same Movies page, with this URL:
http://www.arcadeboss.com/arcade.php?mode=favadd&b4=cat&cat_id=13&id=1733#1733
I THEN sidetrack to view my Faves - no sign of Water Lilies. (though without any obvious SEQUENCE of Faves, it's a pain to meticulously search thru them all!)
Anyway, I then click Remove from Favs, and come to:

Awwww, HELL!
I've NOW found that that may be untrue - at the time it was telling me I had only 1 page of faves (yes, Page 1 of 1).
But since then I find I've really got 5 pages ..... but sometimes it flips and tells me I have just 2 pages!?!?! (I've seen it saying I'm on "Page 4 of 2"!!) - so _ I hardly know what's true and what's not anymore.
Might take some days off  |

 __CASE CLOSED__ (I think )
Since yesterday the whole "Faves" area seems to got fixed, AND turned into "ASC" sequence (which looks human-understandable) instead of "DESC" (which didn't!).
My only remaining small doubt is when you click "Remove from Faves" FROM a Category page, I think it DOESN'T return to the page u were at, but to some strange place. (called "Arcade Boss Games » Arcade » Play All Activities", URL: http://www.arcadeboss.com/arcade.php?mode=favdel&b4=cat&id=1733#1733 )
Actually, rather than "fixing" this, I wonder if it needs to use space and "clutter" SAYING that, in a Category section at all!? Why not have the Category saying "Add to Faves" where appropriate, but once one is IN Faves, say nothing about it any more in Categories (kinda similar to "Rate" - which vanishes once you've used it). Then if someone DOES want to remove a Fave they must do it FROM Faves - which seems to make reasonable sense.
And RATE is much easier now. Thank you, AB (who, I read, never does anything about fixing anything around here ... hmmm, 'tis said he promises to "look at it" - and that's exactly all he ever does. LOL . Doesn't sound like anyone I've seen. ) |

I think that is an excellent solution to just take the Remove from Faves button off of games in the category listing!

Oh dear - and then... a glitch with THIS page: If you now click for Page *2* of those 5 it seems to take you there ( http://www.arcadeboss.com/arcade.php?mode=favadd&order=ASC&cat_id=3&start=20 ) but now titled " ... » Arcade » Strategy Games & Puzzles" again, and labelled Page 2 of 4!!!?
Your results may vary. That "4" is due, I think, to my having "4" pages of FAVES - whereas indeed Strategy Games ARE 5 pages. |

Having game cats alphabetised could make backstage editorial operations on queued new games difficult, as they would then all become distributed out over several pages instead of being conveniently listed together.
