Was watching the CNN Heroes program tonight, which was really inspiring about people going beyond the norm to help children, their community, the planet, fighting for justice and more. You can check out those that were honored at the CNN Heroes page.
For example I was reminded that slavery is still alive in the world. One of the heros was a young teenager, Zach Hunter, who started Loose Change to Loose Chains which encourages students to give spare change to end modern slavery. His website, links to another organization Free the Slaves, where you can read more about this problem, and donate to help their cause and help people build new lives.
Another was 14 year-old Savannah Walters who started a group that raises awareness of the fact that America wastes over a billion gallons of gasoline a year due to underinflated tires. Her groups has given out thousands of tire pressure gauges in 15 states.
The whole show was a great reminder that even young people, like many of you, can make a tremendous impact on the world.
Get some inspiration, do something positive...
