AB, can you confirm (or deny or whatever) that BOTM will normally close at midnight CST on the last night of month ? (i.e. 3 days + 19 hours from the time of this post).
Also, will you be able this month to record/keep the final scores ? |

Thanx, KT.
Yes, last month is what raises my question - as far as I know it WAS right on the dot for the previous 2 or 3 months - I just want to confirm that last month was just a one-time glitch. |

| I'm feeling much better this month, and I anticipate that we'll likely be able to take it right down to the wire as usual and capture the trophy data as well. |

| Can the extra half hour matter that much. It usually takes that long to get the high score on one game! Did it make that much difference in the standings for July or August? |

It was only the end of July where there was a glitch, Messing.
By my reckoning it closed 25 minutes early.
Does it matter ? - Well yes. When you enter a race you expect to know where the finish line is and plan accordingly.
And sure, many worthwhile games take longer than 25 minutes to play, but so what ?
I can closely estimate some games, where for example I may need 8 HOURS to get a winning score. It can be good tactics to get high scores as late as possible (so noone else has time to top them) - so I may plan to START such a game at 3:45pm, which clearly allows 8 hours before closing. Does it "matter" if closing is NOT midnight, but 11:35pm ? You bet it does!
Did it affect standings ? Probably not. but it could have easily, as in the previous example.
In fact I think I was between games at the time it ended, and had probably achiev ed all that I could - but I WAS carefully aware of the time, and planned one more attempt at a "quick" game, which chance was suddenly taken away.
Anyway, it WAS just a one-off accident I gather, so all is well again and hopefully we all work by the same standard rules again. |
