Doughnuts do taste good now but if they were turned into a fruit then all the sugar and fatty substances in it would be gone making it taste like crap

That would not make any sense though because then it wouldn't be a fruit if it was still sugary and fatty.

Fruits are all natural and if there is any sort of artificial ingredients that would cause it to taste sugary then it is not a fruit
