There have been several questions about how some players are getting higher scores than others.

And the obvious answer to the question is.... a glitch!

Actually, I'm not even 100% that this is a glitch, but anyway, in order to level the playing field slightly, I'm going to release a couple of hints about the Billet Bill glitch:

1. It's a typical type of glitch, not very surprising and not overly sneaky.

2. Mario, Mario, Mario!

On a tangentially related but different issue, I will mention that although the concept of Bullet Bill 1 is fantastic, the implementation is not near the quality of Bullet Bill 2. Many players are not enjoying it as much as a contest game, which is understandable, the playability/fun factor is a bit lower since the difficulty is hard. a bit more requiring of memorization rather than fully on skill, but oh well, the competition continues as is. At least it will be something else after January. Wink

I've been told that my hint doesn't help, so I'll just spell it out. Here's what I've heard...

Keep Bullet Bill on top of Mario/Luigi as long as possible while they are on the screen. This will supposedly rack up more points.

I have to admit that I haven't even seen Mario in the game, because I haven't gotten that far, but if this is correct, and Mario doesn't go "poof" like the bricks when you hit 'em, then this isn't even a glitch. More like make Mario feel the pain as much as possible and earn the reward in points.

montana you haven't been around long enough to know anything about this situation with cheaters. i have exposed many cheaters and believe me there are tons of them at any given time . i just sit in wait for them to slip up

montana, this website is full of cheaters... people are not even tring to play bb1 anymore (includes nite and pimpin) because of cheaters. if you happen to be one of the "cheaters" then please admit, i agree with arcadeboss. he will think that u cheated in the game when it couldof been a simple glitch. therefore please tell arcadeboss if you do happen to be one of these cheaters or glitchers, AB does have the right and he will delite your account. this is not to scarre you, i just want to tell you so you are aware.

First, let me tell you that all this noise has only one goal: cancel the competition, but I think that is unfair to those who aren´t cheating, and I´m one of them.
This website has existed for a long time so the administrator should have sufficient means to discover the cheaters, so you must be calm that justice will be made in the delivery of prizes.
I love these kinds of games and I am an honest player therefore fear nothing.
Users older than I should have more confidence in the administration of this website, as I have in the justice delivery of prizes.

i'm only 13 yrs old... so dont talk to me... ur prbabally like 20 Surprised

and i dont care you either glitched or cheated cuz' it is impossible to get over 70,000 points without for glitches or cheats, i nearly got everything and i only got like 58,500 in BB1... just please stop talking to me...

Few last points that I would like to make about this challenge and this game.

1. There was no cheating. Cheating is hacking the scores, and hacking scores results in the cheaters being deleted. All of the scores in this challenge were 100% valid. Congrats to the winners.

2. Call it a glitch, call it good strategy, the trick to a high score in BB1 is to pull backwards over any object that you can get points for hitting. Bricks definitely. Goombas and others possibly.

My testing shows the following:

If you plow forward (to right) thru that first little group of bricks that comes out, you can get as low as 231 points. But if you start on the right side of the page and pull back to the left thru the same group of bricks you can get as much as 476 points. That's over twice as many points from a simple technique adjustment.

3. Many players here have taken advantage of game glitches. I think you know who you are. And anyway, our policy on glitches is posted. They are fair game. I don't like them, and we try to get glitches fixed if possible, but sometimes we just have to live with them. Also I try to avoid challenge games with glitches, but sometimes it happens. But, let's be clear using glitches is not cheating.

It can.

The best thing would be to report the glitch in the forums, so that everyone knows what's going on, and keep the playing field level.
