Early days yet, only June 9th, but usually interesting to speculate how the table might change as we head toward the business end.
Last month GaryOak and Neeraffa surged way out in front from early on - this time Neeraffa's up there but Gary seems to be keeping his ammunition dry, lagging back.
I must say I'm semi-deliberately doing the same - seems not much point in posting a good score now, only to let everyone one else have 3 weeks to knock it down - so I'm waiting for others to post THEIR good scores, then I'll try to beat those nearer the end.
Nice also to see Mel2Win ($5) and KTWorld ($2) looking to expand their as yet meagre fortunes - good luck guys.
I'd be interested to know the prizes cutoff point for the last few months - we can go back and see the $$$ list, but not just how many wins were needed each month to get into prizes. (I think perhaps around 30-35 ??)
Actually, AB(?), would it be possible to post somewhere the final list of BOTM Prizewinners each month, including their # of wins ? Unless one looks at exactly the right moment this info can often get passed by as the end-of-month reset occurs. |

i agree eagle_kiwi, it would be very interesting to see how previous months ended up - including months before we joined? would be well worth a look! |

No, I just wanted to have at least one week to relax after the last BOTM contest! It was a very close and hence tiring contest! |

I'm still relatively new to all this but it seems to me like there are a ton more people with a ton more first places this month. When I first got to 40 I thought I was doing well but I guess not really |

LOL. Understood very well.
I found especially the last day, Sun 31 May, a massive challenge. I was on from around 6am to midnight, tho I screwed up Time Zones and got the finish time wrong by a coupla hours, most distracting!.
Then on Monday I was just "blahhhhh" (hence my not even up to acknowledging YOUR congratulations at the time ).
You and I compete at different ends of the spectrum obviously - u r going seriously for the $50 (your last 3 months' winnings $10, $40, $90 seem to show an ominous trend!) - while my goal is simply to grab one of the $10 spots each month. |

Interesting, that!
I thought *I* was doing well early in April when I got to 50 or more Firsts, but I ended the month struggling on about 15 (and well below the Prize Barrier).
All a matter of timing I figure - ANYONE can rush out in the first few days and there's over 1000 easy easy "Firsts" to be had, but they probably won't stand up later when the "pro's" come in.
The sad truth is that your number of Firsts goes UP - thru your own efforts - but it also (usually later) goes DOWN - thanks to all the other thieves and pillagers around here! ROTFL
So for me anyway this month I'm trying early to fill in the games *I* am genuinely good at (where I hope noone will beat me no matter how hard they try) - then later on I'll join the free-for-all for all the others - especially when I see what scores others have achieved.
Good luck anyway KT (and Danilus too). |

The only way to get ahead and stay there seems to be to make sure your score is unbeatable, it doesnt seem to be working very well for me tho!! |

It was okay; I was so tired I probably wouldn't have even noticed your acknowledgement!
I don't think the trend will continue; you can't possibly get better than BOTM!
I can tell you are definitely improving! I'm sure you'll win AT LEAST as much as you did last month or probably even more! |

...if you aren't taking it so seriously then how do you explain why it looks like you will have AT LEAST THREE tournament wins this month? |

I have found that winning a tournment actually can mean something unlike repeatedly taking a first place in a game and going round and round with other good players, especially when there are so many players playing so many games |

Do you mean you prefer Tournaments to BOTM ?
I'm beginning to get comfortable with BOTM, as I adjust to the pace of it over the month, but a Tournament makes me nervous, feeling that all the experts at that game will be there and I won't stand a chance.
But I get a feeling that winning scores in tournaments may be lower, in general, than those in BOTM - if so I guess that over a month every (BOTM) game gets looked over by all the good players at some stage, whereas perhaps tournaments sneak under the radar a little, and may be easier to win.
But I've never won one yet - maybe when (if?!) I do my perception may change. |
