|
|
It looks like Revenge of the Fallen just continued its record haul into the weekend as it made over two hundred million dollars in just five days!
Here is the article:
http://boxoffice.com/numbers/
Here is the first paragraph of that article if you missed it:
| Quote: | | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen continued its tremendous start over the weekend. The sci-fi action film from Paramount and DreamWorks grossed $108.97 million over the weekend and $200.08 million in its first five days of release. The five-day start for Transformers 2 was the second largest of all-time, behind only the $203.77 million five-day start of The Dark Knight last July. The film’s opening weekend was easily the largest opening weekend of 2009 thus far and ranked as the seventh largest of all-time (it ranked as 15th largest of all-time when adjusted for ticket price inflation). |
What do you think of the movie's success? How do you think it compares to The Dark Knight's record? |

We ARE in a recession. I read in the newspaper that people are skipping vacations in exotic locations. The movie theatre appears to be where they are spending their extra money in place of those expensive vacations in foreign lands. |

Movies are a way for everyday people to escape their lives. As long as there's movies there will be people will watch them. Even in a recession. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

It's going to a long while before the economy in the States is "normal". Probably a year at least. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

I agree with you there even though I as well as most people would love to see this recession go away overnight! They say this recession wasn't caused because of one year's worth of mistakes; they say it was caused by many years of bad financial decisions. It makes sense then that the recession will last for more than one year too. |

It was a very good movie, but I enjoyed "The Dark Knight" more then this movie... _________________ "Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you represents determinism; the way you play it is free will."

Yes, I would think the acting in The Dark Knight was superior to any of the acting in Revenge of the Fallen. I doubt the actors in the Transformers sequel will receive Oscars for their work in this movie. |

The movie was not bad though, I heard they are already working on part 3. _________________ "Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you represents determinism; the way you play it is free will."
