I'm surprised that Revenge of the Fallen actually beat Dawn of the Dinosaurs yesterday! It was a close race though with Transformers 2 earning $11,500,000 while Ice Age 3 had $11,200,000.

Ice Age 3 will win. I don't think Transformers has what it takes to take a 2nd weekend number 1.

| Yeah I agree. When the weekend is over I think Ice Age will win. Alot of people will take their kids to see that movie. |

Everybody has seen pretty much already seen Transformers 2... So i think Ice Age 3 will come out on top, It's close though...

| its suprising seeing that ice age 3 even COMPARED to transformers 2! I saw theaters packed for a week to watch Transformers while ice age 3 remained empty. i dont know but usually the 3rd movie in a trilogy dosen't do well. |

It shouldn't be surprising at all! Dawn of the Dinosaurs was a new movie while Revenge of the Fallen was into its second week already! Transformers 2 was also rated PG-13 while Ice Age 3 was only rated PG.
That last sentence definitely isn't true as I can name Spider-man 3, Pirates of the Caribbean:At World's End and X-Men: The Last Stand as all examples of the final film in a trilogy that DID do well at the box office. |

It's quite simple to understand why it's making that much money. It is just one sequel from a famous series that spans decades! It's quite easy to get a large number of tickets sold when you have built up a group of fans over 25 years. |
