There's a conflict regrauding Obama's speech given to our young ones on 9/8/09. Some people think that the speech was conspiracy, a plan just to brainwash our kids but as the next generation of adults what do you think?

| I say no. since its more or less remarks towards the mainstream of back to school statements. A lot of presidents from both sides had experienced the same in the past. He's speech tonight is what matter to me. |

i did not think it was for brainwashing and i believe that because of three reasons 1. when has brainwashing ever really been attempted 2. Obama is a good guy that a lot of people can relate to 3. some people still may be upset that he is a black president (i am not accusing anyone)

This made me remember a shirt I saw in a catalog that said "Good Rush, Bad Rush." If you don't know, Rush Limbaugh was one of the radio talk show hosts that blasted the Obama speech along with Glenn Beck. From this info, guess who was on the "Bad Rush" side.

| I just had the chance to read over the transcript of Obama's speech on the Web at http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Remarks-by-the-President-in-a-National-Address-to-Americas-Schoolchildren/. While it's not pure brainwashing in the sense of delivering pure propaganda, I do get the sense that he's trying to instill a false sense of hope and urgency in the kids. There is plenty in his speech that I would call out BS on, based on personal experience as well as basic logic and common sense; far too much to even try to discuss in detail here. |

What you said was BS. If you got these ides from Glenn Beck or any of those talk-show hosts then it's a LOT of BS in my opinion. And what's with the false sense of hope? Where did that come from?

| A lot of these talk show hosts have degrees in politics, law enforcement, etc and are well versed in their opinions. I would sooner listen to and believe them before I believe a teenager who isn't old enough to vote. |
