I just read this report that recommends putting taxes on junk food and soft drinks loaded with sugar. I think it's a great idea! Here is the article on it:

no taxes are a good idea, think about it they keep raising the tobacco tax and has it actually helped? no, i smoke , i want to quit but raising the price just pisses me off, all it does is help the government take more of my hard earned money
the government was not made to protect us from ourselves , they need to stop the bull they're pulling and back-off

| I agree with you about cigarettes since the stuff is addictive so you have little choice about the taxes really. Junk food is probably different though because it's much cheaper and they're everywhere! Children are allowed to eat it and you can buy it just about anywhere; they don't sell cigarettes at Macdonald's for instance! |

but the fact still remailns that in the U.S. there should be no taxation without representation and nowadays the government doesn't represent the peopl, they think they know better than the people. they think that we should listen to them and work for them when they should listen to us and work for us. the system today has gone assbackwards and it needs to change before the government digs a hole so deep we will never be able to climb out of
