| Yeah, watch out for SoulTaker on these....somehow he keeps planning it out perfectly finishing a tournment with the highest score (often the all time highest score) just before it closes.....he got me twice on this with big tournments last month |

| I'd say that my sense of timing the tournaments is actually derived from you, KTWORLD. The Red Driver tourney from September was the first one that got my attention regarding your timing abilities, and I've seen you take down a few other tournaments during the Completing phase. Your ability to snipe tournaments in that manner is one which must be respected and accounted for accordingly. |

I agree with that one! I've been here longer than you, soultaker777 and I can remember that people have been talking about that "sniping" in tournaments before your account got created here. I remember there was a topic created about it back then. |

KTWORLD, during the Red Driver I thought I was getting my first Tournament Win. Then at the last minute you come in and beat me with an astounding score. I hate you! |

KTWORLD, yuo beat me in the last minute in the tournamet Galactic Gravity Golf. Cngrts!
soultaker777, you beat me in Solyd 3 and Ledix. Cngrts for this!! . But too i noted that you beat severals games in the last minutes with others gamers.
fshk, not good to hate, just a matter of knowing how to lose, and this kind of lost in the game just makes you better so that you know your opponent and then you can win. Remember if you compete, you will be you better player doing your best effort and you will get great results and really lucky that next you will be better!!
I think that everybody had beat in the last minuts sometime, or no??? also include myself, but I do my best effort since starting a tournament.
Both are beaters in the last minuts, but soultaker777 begin to acept the tournament games in the last 1 or 2 hrs before the end tournament. And for mi this will to be the question. |

I split this thread off from the original post before it could derail the original discussion. I thought it would be an interesting topic to discuss among the top tournament players. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

Well, a thread on another part of the forum started by khelos brings up an interesting possible scenario regarding sniping. For reference, read this:
http://www.arcadeboss.com/arcade-thread2611.html
In the fine print for every tournament's standings page there is text that says "Tournament competitors should click ACCEPT before playing." Now based on what khelos wrote in the linked thread, I get the impression that in theory, a player can attempt this step-by-step process: (1) log in, (2) play a game listed in the tournaments, (3) register for that game's tournament after finishing their game but before submitting their score, with 1 minute left on the tournament clock, (4) submit their score for both the normal high-score lists and the tournament standings.
That sounds like the ultimate way to snipe a tournament to me, if it's allowed. I'm thinking that technically, that process would be perfectly legal but discouraged, since the fine print does not mandate tournament registration prior to starting gameplay. However, with the exception of timing bugs and games that are meant to be played in a very short period of time, any scores submitted in such a fashion would immediately raise a red flag because they would clearly show that the time spent playing the game in that session was longer than the amount of time available to play said game after registering for the tournament at its conclusion.
I checked the other threads in the tournament forum as well as the FAQ and I couldn't find a clear-cut answer as to what happens in this situation. Is this form of "tournament capitalism" perfectly legal? If not, is there a mechanism that automatically disallows from the tournament standings, any score submitted from a gameplay session that was started before a player registered for a given tournament?
I think it would be beneficial to all tournament participants if there was some clarification on this - and if necessary, the individual tournament pages updated (e.g. "Tournament competitors must click ACCEPT before playing.") |

| Yeah what soultaker said is possible. To correct the problem with accepting after scoring, before submitting, all you need to do is redirect you after clicking "accept" to go strait to the game's page, this starts a new session, and the last session that was open would "have a problem with the score." |
