An absolutely bizarre event has taken place in Norway. A blue spiralling light hovered in the sky for several minutes before ejecting what appeared to be a blue beam of light.
No one knows what it was. A meteor has been ruled out and so has rocket tests.
Wow, this is crazy.. I hope they eventually find out what it was, if you can, please keep us updated with this if they find anything. _________________ "Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you represents determinism; the way you play it is free will."

I don't think something which thousands of people witnessed can be fake. If you mean it's an attempt to hoax a ufo sighting, then it could be fake, yes - but so far there is no explanation as to how this could be man made.
The only possible man made explanation is that it is the back end of a rocket spiralling out of control, but it sits quite comfortably in orbit for some time and all adjacent countries have denied any recent launch. It is unlikely anyway for a launch to take place so close to Obama's visit to the country. The blue beam of light being ejected towards the earth is also quite strange. _________________ > Without Capricorns

Oh wait a second! If you look at the bottom of the mountain, on the right, it looks like its coming from there. Maybe someone tried to hoax it?
No, that's just part of it's trail. Besides, the blue beam of light/gas was emitted/ejected from the spiral, not projected towards it as you seem to be suggesting. _________________ > Without Capricorns

That may just be exactly it. I was just doing the rounds on some gaming sites that I read regularly, and one of them linked to an article on Gizmodo discussing this incident.
According to the article, it seems that various sources from the Russian navy and Norway's defense forces are calling it a failed test of a Bulava missile launched from a nuclear sub.
This is truly amazing, just as it can be a great trick.
It would be interesting to see the views of a pilot, balloonist, astronomer, scientists and military and so see the different opinions of them and know more exactly what happened.
But surely this is amazing, just hope this is not an apocalyptic event.
Man, that is one of the strangest things I've ever seen. Every time I see something like that, I always get my hopes up that some kind of remarkable progress that's not an Ipod or phone would happen this century.
Well, it's making the rounds on a lot of news sites now that it was indeed a failed Russian missile launch. Here's one article discussing the incident with some more information than we had yesterday.
