I've looked into this.
My math matches.
I've tried peeking inside the flash for any details about the scoring mechanisms, but it's pretty hard to see. Besides having to sort out two completely different games (Tom/Jerry) the relevant areas are a bit elusive.
I've looked for other highscores on other arcade sites, but frankly, I didn't even see any site that includes scores with 5 digits, so that didn't help.
I've examined what remains of the evidence and don't see anything conclusive. But this episode has inspired me to take my diagnostics and software to a higher level for future reference.
The score could be the result of a perfect score plus some unknown bonus. It could also be due to some type of scoring glitch. In any case, the net result is probably going to be that I will remove that score, since even AnotherUnknown isn't sure where the extra 200 points came from.
Thanks for your patience in this issue.
Also let's not post accusing threads with titles like "AnotherUnknown is Not Who He Seems". That isn't helpful. I would prefer that you just make note of the issue and it will eventually be looked into. |
