Metallica hands down. Not much Chess highscore-wise here, although Crazy Chess might be fun.

The trouble is I find orthodox/normal Chess really boring now. I can only find the motivation to play variants.

Megadeth every time, absolutely awesome live band and never sold out to the soft side of rock like Metallica.

I have called Metallica my favorite band for about 17 years now mainly because of their 80's stuff and their great concerts they put on but let's get real....

In legacy and influence - Metallica wins but don't forget that the founder and main songwriter in Megadeth helped Metallica write their first album which changed the game in metal music.

Most quality albums - Megadeth wins. Metallica has 5 great or classic albums including 2 which are masterpieces (Ride the Lightning/Master of Puppets). Megadeth released a few classics early on then went downhill a bit but then in the 2000's they started making great albums again. When talking about albums, this is why Megadeth Wins...

This is a pretty sloppy post from me and I didn't spend much time on it and not all of that is really 100 % accurate but my point is that Metallica went in a different direction that has angered a lot of their old school fans while Megadeth continues to turn out great songs and give their fans what they want. Because of this I would vote for Megadeth. Overall though, Metallica is the "greater" metal band if you know what I mean.

I fully understand what Black Zeppelin is saying but I would put Metallica's first three albums up against anything Megadeath has put out and hands down Metallica would be the winner.

Yes Dave Mustaine did help co-write 4 songs on Kill em All (Metal Militia, Phantom Lord, Jump in the Fire and The Four Horsemen) and he helped co-write Ride the Lightning and The Call of Ktulu from the album Ride The Lightning he also claims to have written Leper Messiah from Master of Puppets but he received no acknowledgement in the credits.

There is no denying that he had some influence in the early years of Metallica (their best years) but regardless they were Metallica and their music back then kicked anything that Megadeath came out with in the 80s 90s or later.

Don't get me wrong I like Megadeath...Peace Sells is awesome but in my eyes nothing they have ever done comes close to Metallica's Big first 3.

It really is too bad that Mustaine couldn't keep away from the drugs and booze cuz that is what lead to their falling out and eventually Mustaines' firing. They might have stayed the course with their music but we will never know...oh what might have been..........................
