Probably really advanced technology, maybe even flying cars and tons of violence unless if something changes for the better.

People will lean more on technology and it will become more dangerous and powerful. People will probably live longer, but I hate to think what advanced weapons will be capable of in 100 years in the wrong hands.

Sci-Fi films will become a background niche following a decrease in quality or original ideas.

As we learn more about science there is less to "fantasize" about.

In turn quality sci-fi in the future will probably revolve around a more "drama" orientated plot, or adopt an alternative universe character source.

When I was a kid sci-fi was amazing, it was magical and mysterious... nowadays it is becoming an irritating noise with nothing new to share.

Still... sci-fi can't die completely. Hopefully we'll see some new talent emerge.

Hmmm, let's see...
- During the 17th Century, the sciences were being reborn: Chemistry was born from alchemy, while astrology evolved into astronomy.
- The 18th century was all about the industrial revolution, with the steam engine producing previously unheard of power to run all sorts of new mechanical inventions.
- The 19th century saw the widespread use of electricity... a truly revolutionary development!
- The 20th century became the age of travel, with everyone wanting to own cars and fly to new destinations. Of course, the 20th century also heralded the onset of the computer age, and everything that came with it!
- Perhaps the 21st century is becoming a communications age, where people might not be so dependent on travel - especially as resources dwindle, with few commercially economic alternatives at the moment. So, people might start to travel less, and learn more.

In a hundred years...
22nd century communications will be taken to the next level, where everyone is offered implants for easy global access, orally, aurally and visually. This will make the planet seem to shrink further, so adventurous eyes and ears will be set on the universe outside our doorstep. Mars, and other neighbours, will definitely be colonised; perhaps manufacturing will move, not only offshore, but off-planet. If a good propulsion system is found, probes and unmanned scouts will start exploring further afield, perhaps to the nearest neighbouring solar system, Alpha Centauri B, which is about four light years away. What will we find there? Who knows...!

Oh, and in a hundred years from now, rogbow, -White-Wolf-, and neeraffa will still be battling for supremacy on AB Cool

I think there'll be a few big noticeable differences that came to my mind immediately.

First and foremost I think languages will have become nearly unrecognizable to our ears. It'll be similar to the way Shakespearean English exists now.

Many countries will have merged, split, and ceased to exist entirely.

I think transportation will look much different than it does today, but flying cars would be too hard to regulate to allow.

I would say that in a hundred years the world as we know it will not exist. most of the land will have been ravaged from corporations trying to increase their profits. many of the animals will have been killed off and humans if they have not already killed each other will be limited to small areas. of course that is if the asteroid that is suppose to hit us has not already done so.
