hmm Well the only director I can think of at the moment with the name "Roman" is Roman Polanski if that is correct then maybe you are referring to his previous wife...... Sharon Tate ? just a guess but, you said actor not actress so I don't think that is it.

I think I have poorly written,Roman is understood in the sense of the city of Rome..is not the name of the director I apologize for the misunderstanding!

Wow, thank you! This is why I have the utmost respect for the inventor of the participation award.
For the current question.... I want to say Clint Eastwood. The director he worked with was Sergio Leone, who was from Rome.

The cigar was helpful, as was the hint about the famous Roman director (whom I too thought at first was Polanski).
