Yes, the Conficker virus proved to be quiet overall but here is Cnet's top 5 deadliest computer viruses. All of them happened during the past decade but one or two of them may still be around today!
Feel free to ignore the contest question since the original video was posted well over a week ago!
So, what do you think of this list? Have any of your computers ever been infected by any of the ones on the list?
Never heard of these but my other laptop had something called WinZip and it stole passwords. I don't know if it was WinZip or an other program causeing it. I don't have much detail on it.
Winzip is a program used to zip files. You resurrected a dead thread to post about a "virus" you know nothing about. Are you trying to have zero credits by the end of the week? _________________ -2nd Person to Join

I had a virus called something like INF/Autorun, I had superpop ups, programs running everywhich way. I had to unplug my cpu to make it turn off, I ended up just reinstalling windows xp lol
I also got something like 3 months ago where my printer just started printing by itself, the paper said " Youve Just Been F***ed " I was like OMG, but turns out thats all it does is scare you, doesnt actually cause damage to the cpu. I did think I was f'ed though lmao.

This would more likely be a script kiddy who got his hands on a program to hack you computer. There are small programs that allow people to access cd-roms, printers, etc, but they need to have a host installed on a machine to do it. Your computer was hacked by someone who had nothing better to do. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

I had a virus on my old pc called low sec. It did numerous things but the worst was stealing £800 From my bank account. As soon as I entered my bank details when purchasing something on the web the virus phoned home with the juicy info. It could have been there for ages I dont know but it was the very first time I ever used my debit card on the web!
Good ending though....it took less than a week before I was fully refunded by the bank!
Well this isn't a virus itself, but is a highly dodgy file a friend had on her pc once and is part of a larger network of viruses.
Click Here for "cmatt.exe" info and to have it removed.
EDIT: The "Sharp" virus or "Sharpie" is also another dodgy piece of work, targeting your entire .net infrastructure! Click Here for info. I don't have a specific link to remove it, but I expect an up to date AV program will get rid of it.
It's imperative you update your AV program regularly, as new viruses are created every minute! You think "there isn't a need to worry about that right now, do it later", but think of all the billions of people in the world, then how many of those are likely to be criminals, and then how many of those online etc... stay up to date!
