if you want your predictions to be any good, you cant just pick all the favorites....you have to go out on a limb in football...its the only way to do it...
this week for example....in the early games, i picked mostly favorites...but then i went with miami beating the vikes and chicago beating the cowboys....if you never pick underdogs, you'll never be all that good at your predictions
I don't only pick favorites, that would be stupid. I've been watching the NFL long enough to know that a lot of upsets happen. I pick mostly favorites for the first couple of weeks because I don't yet know how good some teams will be then I start to predict more upsets. I missed most of the games in week 1 so I have really no idea about half of the teams right now.
I picked the Cowboys to win because I didn't think they would lose their first 2 games. I didn't pick the Lions beating the Eagles because they always let me down so I don't like picking them very often unless they are playing another sucky team. I did really well last year with my predictions. I got a lot more right than wrong.
i wasnt trying rip on your picks...im just saying, every week you have to pick at least 4 games opposite than you normally would....thats where it gets tough....trying to figure out which ones will actually show up and play the role of the shocker....i did unreal this week in my pool...in yesterdays games i lost one game....so without even taking tonights game into consideration i already won $450...my only lose this week was the pats...i had a feeling they were gonna lose to, i could have been undefeated
I had the Steelers beating the Titans and I knew Ben Roethlisberger wasn't playing so it's not like i only picked clear favorites to win. I'm getting the feel of how good the teams are now so next week I pretty much guarantee that I will do better than this week. Hopefully the Saints will win tonight and I can be 10-6 for this week which isn't really that bad.
if you want a real challenge....make your picks with the point spreads.... picking winners with no points is the easy part
I'm not competing against anyone. I do this for fun to see how good I am. I did compete against my brother and cousin last year though and my brother won and I finished 2nd. We only bet on one game a week and at the end of the year I had to buy him something. I was thinking about predicting the final score for each game next week but I don't know it's pretty hard cause the NFL is so unpredictable. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/groups/moviesnshows/?ref=bookmarks
