I never really got the Simpsons. I've seen a few episodes but can't see why some people are so obsessed, not that I'm saying anyone on here is obsessed but I think we all know someone who gets aggresive if you criticise it. I think I'm just too old but I much prefered it when cartoons were cartoons so Tom and Jerry has always been my favourite.

I always like to watch to Tom and Jerry and one of the most beautiful cartoons was for me Tweety, I very much liked the cat "Sylvester"
and his evil look in his eyes when he planned another way to eat Tweety
it always failed... Laughing

Yeah they started in 1973 and have been active since. They put on a good show but, they have a new lead singer Arnel Pineda instead of Steve Perry when they had all their biggest hits back in the day and his voice isn't quite the same but, he still did a very good job. I was a little disappointed with the opening act Tower of Power I was hoping The Steve Miller Band would have opened here instead but, they split the tour dates with Tower of Power so they were not here.

I seem to remember (don't know why I remember), Pineda made a humble remark about that. He said that any time Steve Perry wanted the job back, Pineda wouldn't stand in his way, as he only wanted what is best for the band. He didn't feel the need for personal glory.

Something like that, anyway...

@ msidoh

I think Arnel Pineda is a good fit with the band and is a very talented singer only his voice has a slightly different sound which is normal I think as everyone has their own voice and I was not trying to take anything away from him. It's just easy to pick the sound of his voice out from Steve Perry if you listen to the original hits from the band in the 70's and 80's verses now.

I think you are probably very familiar with Arnel Pineda anyway since he is a Filipino star from Manilla and has been in several bands Ijos Band, Amo,Intensity five, New Age, Most W@nted, The Zoo and now of course Journey. I know he is very accomplished too for his vocals winning the Best Vocalist award in the 1990 Yamaha World Band Explosion competition and in 2009 GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Awards he won the award for Outstanding Global Achievement by a Filipino Artist.

I read his bio before and I must say it is a rather touching story of how he went out on his own at 13 after his mother died and his father could not provide for him and his siblings and how he survived on Marie Biscuits for 2 days at at time doing every odd job he could just to get by and pursued his dream and now look at where he's at Cool so I'd say he has become a very humble person and it does not surprise me that he would make that comment either about stepping aside for Steve Perry if he wanted the job back.
