too early to really know, their claiming it use's less memory resource then vista. system requirements are almost the same so that's a good thing. Vista dubbed W7 is vista just a redesign of the whole OS. Their aiming for late 2009 date when will ms learn aiming on a date too soon has never been in favor for ms, they should be aiming for perfection an experience and aim for their original time frame of 2011.
This does look like a nice step in the right direction Ill be looking froward to
trying it. _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT!

MS have never learned that pushing to get a new OS out is a bad thing. Vista is just over a year old and already they want to release a new version? If they spent the time and effort to release a product that had few bugs and security issues they'd have a really good product. Instead they release the new versions too early to all kinds of hype and what do you know.....it's a crappy product. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

I agree with you totally on that, if they look at their 2011 time frame and fix the bug in the os they may bounce back from the longhorn/vista/mojave fiasco.

It's the same OS as Vista just with a fancy new name and wrapper. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

i would be more hopeful that this would be a good os if it were not for all of those commercials where they were showing vista with a shell and saying it was mohave-this has ruined what customer loyalty that they had-now everyone that i know is saying "that new os is probably just the same one with a different visual display package" |

I know about that OS — my Cisco teacher told me that quite a few times up to this point, and I hope that it turns out to be a far better machine than Vista (I also hope that it won't be quite resource-hungry than either XP or Vista, though I can infer that that will never happen). |

XP was the first "new" windows since '95. Windows '98 had 2 types both the same. Windows NT and 2000 were essentially the same OS. I have low expectations and hopes for Windows 7. _________________ -2nd Person to Join

qft-most people think just because something is being sold this year that it is new-microsoft repackages the same garbage more than any other software developer |

I'm upgarding from Vista as soon as the retail version is out.
True, it isn't a "new" OS as such, but it must be better than Vista surely? |
