To summarise: The time machine only works from the moment it is switched on. So if the machine is switched on on Monday and left on until Friday, between Monday and Friday you could send something back in time, but only as far back as Monday, when the machine was switched on. The machine itself needs to exist and be switched on for time travel to be possible. You cannot for example, go back to a time before the machine was invented.

so i cant go see baby me or baby my mom so if i turn it on today i leave it on till friday i can only travel from friday and today no further back or forward _________________
So grandfather paradox is wrong according to this. I'm no mad scientist but I find this to be somehow wrong an somewhat disappointing if true. _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT! Great Canada - US Host...

No unfortunately not.
It's like a time-mailbox. In order to send mail back in time, the time-mailbox needs to exist at the arrival time. So you can't send mail back to a time when there is no time-mailbox invented yet.
But to be honest I think all time travel theories are flawed. _________________

It's a spiritual/religious thing.
Regardless of any truth in reincarnation, our lives right now, the time right now, this very moment is very unique and/or special to each and every one of us. Should the ability to travel to other times in the past or future become a reality, our lives together would lose their authenticty or value.
Also special moments to us that we would usually appreciate for their "one off time" would no longer be special to us. The present moment itself would become less special to savour if we could merely live it again.
Ever heard the saying, "live every moment as if it's your last".
Just a religious thing, that's all. _________________

How is grandfather paradox wrong according to the video?
time travel woud only be possible only within the time the machine exists & working. I can only travel within the time it is turned on.
I could beem myself to 10 years from now as long as the machine stays on on for that peorid.
I cannot travel back 11 years. am i missing something on this.
Can it be possible garyoak99s time maching can colide with mine which you started 13 years ago, 2 years prior to when mine was turned on allowing me to go back those extra 3 years.
I agree completely with your evaluation Mr Jepps Se. Anyone have any other views on it? _________________ -2nd Person to Join

I agree completely with this statement and it probably sums up the entire message best in that one sentence. I would also like to point out that a time machine would render any actions taken by any individuals to be moot given that time travelers would be able to prevent such actions from even happening!

Correct.

Then beeming me back forward only. Am I right or wrong or not even close on this.
No the two machines are mechanically individual. It's like two tubes. One tube starts at 2009 and ends at 2010.
The other tube (garyoak's) starts at 2007 and ends at 2009.
The tubes do not collide because they are two separate machines in two completely different places.
(of course you could set it up that way I suppose, like a conference call, but then you would still only be able to go back as far as the first caller)
What you "send" through the machine only travels within the machine; you put it in the machine in the year 2010 and it then materialises in the other version of your machine, in the year 2009.
What you "send" doesn't go anywhere other than within the machine, or space-time within the machine. _________________
While this may be PLAUSIBLE...I think it won't work....
The future is variable. It changes according to what we do now...say he stops making the machine, so in the future the machine won't exist;or he does make the machine but it explodes shortly after being turned on because a surge in power that is the electrical company's fault...he has no power over some on else's future...
Going in the past may be plausible as it has already happened, so is constant but we haven't been visited by future people so my guess is there never will be a time machine...
