Cliff Burton the Jimi Hendrix of metal bass guitar died in a tragic bus accident in 1986, 25 years ago today. As long as I live I will continue to think about him and pay tribute to him. He was the glue that held Metallica together. When he died, Metallica went in a new direction that pissed off a lot of fans. Cliff was like one half of Metallica. Rest In Peace brother! I will continue to pay tribute until I stop breathing.
I was alive.....the problem is that I was only 1 year old when he died. As I said, I will pay tribute to him until the day I die. He wasn't just a great bassist. He was a great person. James Hetfield looked UP to him. That is a fact. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/groups/moviesnshows/?ref=bookmarks
Yes I agree with Destroyer....Metallica went the wrong way after he died. So, many of the best have died stragically such a shame to have a career like that cut short like that R.I.P !!
I agree to Destroyer about Cliff Burton... but , here is another "fact"
( its some different, but who cares )
exactly 25 years ago on October 7, so today ................
Slayer Releases "Reign in Blood"
Kerrang! magazine described the record as "the heaviest album of all time," and a breakthrough in thrash metal and speed metal.
( I copy )
The opening track, "Angel of Death", which refers to Josef Mengele and describes acts allegedly committed at the Auschwitz concentration camp, provoked allegations of Nazism. However, the band stated numerous times they do not condone Nazism, and are merely interested in the subject. The album was Slayer's first to enter the Billboard 200; the release peaked at number 94, and was awarded gold certification on November 20, 1992.
