Today's date (across America and the UK as of the writing of this message) is 11/11/11! We won't see another date like that for another century!
Veterans Day wasn't always known as Veterans Day as it was formerly known as Armistice Day. It wasn't until 1954 that Congress finally amended the act so that this day would be known as Veterans Day!
This memorial day is also known as Remembrance Day outside of the US.

This day we should not only give Thanks to the U.S. veteran but we should also give Thanks to all the veteran's around the world that have given so much to acheive the same goals in ridding the world of tirants, terrorist,genocide, etc....
lest we forget the fallen ones in conflicts throughout the ages.
im sure there are many younger generation are not so enthusiastic about the importance of what was done to save many religions and rights of people to live life.
although it must be said,that there are populations in the world still fighting for freedom and equality,its a pity that most of us take what we have for granted.
