It's funny, where I work I see high end expensive cars all day and they're pretty cool but every so often something like this comes through the shop and you get really revved up.
This is a 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible. The story behind it is that it only has 12000 miles (19000 kms) on it. It is en route from Germany and being shipped across Canada and eventually down to San Francisco, California to it's new home.
I had a real good look at it and it is just beautiful. Someone with a lot of money is going to enjoy this classic.

That's one nice car.
Very low Km's.
Do you know how much it is worth, looks like it is in mint condition. |

Hey WW,
My boss didn't say what it was worth but he did say it is going to cost the owner close to 10k just to get it shipped to him. You're right it is in mint condtion. |

I had to google that Kiwi. I had never heard of a Ford Anglia before. Apparently it was a Ford project unique to the UK. Pretty neat looking little car. |

Shouldn't be surprising. Ferdinand Porsche was the man behind both cars. _________________ The TGQ is the most fun section of the forums. Why does nobody post there anymore? |

I'd estimate it around 15-20K if it has not been fully restored it's hard to tell just from the picture. If it has been restored then it would probally fetch between 30-40K. I have restored 2 cars in the past and have been through the antique appaisal process the biggest problem is getting the insurance company to insure the vehicle for it's actual appraisal but, as long as you get it certified then they will insure it.

I'm not really a fan of classic cars but I can see why someone would like that car - looks mint yet it's really old! _________________ 26 Time Boss of the Month |

I love classic cars they are made 10 times better than the ones today not with cheap metal or plastic. Plus you can actually work on them compared to the ones today to much electronics on them you have to take them to a repair shop and pay someone else to do it $50 -$75 an hour because of the electronics stuff |
