Pretty interesting read.
Story
I wonder how long it will be until we start 3d printing solar farms and robots from earth to mars.

I was reading late last year about NASA emailing tools to the ISS. Pretty bizarre concept until you realise that they emailed the design for a tool to the ISS so that it could be 3D printed up there.
Very clever and does free up room on supply rockets for larger items that could be assembled in space that could be used for farther reaching space exploration.
3D printing really has opened up possibilities like never before. |

I would guess around the time solar panel factories go off-grid and power their own factories with their own products.
I'm more interested in the open source DIY fusion reactor research going on now. |
