Any idiot can "play games" (though indeed some much better than others) but it's only a select few who can - and do - COMMUNICATE with other players as well.

I'd dearly love to see more direct interactivity among players.
Currently the ShoutBox is hardly used. But IF the "Online Users" list showed only those online in say the last 5 minutes, rather than the last 24 hours as at present, then I believe there would be real incentive to Shout, directly at someone else who's probably online at the time.

This could lead to some lively exchanges and more communication in general.

Also related to this could be tidying up the PM system, so one could be reasonably sure that if you PM someone they will GET it!
(And also for new members, the preference of "Always notify me of replies" should default/start at YES rather than NO. If you get too many notifications you can always turn it off, but if it's off to start with, so you don't get any, then many new members won't even know what they're missing, so never think to set it to ON.)

What do you other guys think ?

Further to the actual 'red dot' issue, I find now that these days I never(?!) get any EMAILS advising me when I have a new Message.

Looking back I find the last such email I received was 18 February 2013 - nothing since, despite of course having received many messages in that time.

Fails for me too. In Firefox it just sits forever on "Please wait as music is retrieved".

Interesting about those expired links - if you manually enter "mindjolt.com" it indeed is alive and well . . . so I guess that link does NOT go directly to there.

I'm the only one on my computer so I NEVER logout - in fact it took me quite a few moments to even find the logout link you mention, msidoh.

Having found it though, I'm confused that while the page where I'm typing this post at the bottom shows:

I think the new header is exquisite! Shrinks the, er, "waste" space at top to absolute minimum while still leaving it unmistakably distinctive, and utilitarian.

As for new footers I have to admit I notice no difference.... though guess I haven't seen that search box down there before. (I wonder if it's for searching "arcade" or "forum" ? Wink

)
