I remember the Intellivision. The controllers pads would wear through and eventually stop working all together. The characters were nothing more than squares stuck together. Similar to to Beserk on the site. Colecovision was around at that same time, but I don't know which was first.

| The magnavox odyssey i believe was the first console followed by the atari 2600 if i remember right |

I'm sure that the Atari 2600 was the 2nd generation Atari system. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. As for the Odyssey....I never heard of it.

As best I can remember, our first gaming system was a Sears-brand console that had like 4 games, basically all Pong. I think there was one and two player variations, and perhaps even a mode where each player controlled two paddles instead of the usual one. Of course, it was black and white. It doesn't get more dinosaur than that with home consoles.  |
