The good news on this is NASA planed ahead and has a 2nd ship for recovery on a pad ready for launch in case needed. So their in good hands. I wish them a safe return, Being that far into space "300+miles" - "482.8032km" is nothing to joke about. _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT!

You could afford it if you were a billionaire!

$20–28 million is a bit steep. Virgin Atlantic is giving its frequent flyer members an out of this world experience, offering the chance to redeem miles for a trip to outer space. Of course members must earn 2 million frequent flyer miles on Virgin Atlantic flights to redeem the trip on Virgin Galatic. For those consumers who do not belong to Virgin's frequent flyer program, the trip to outer space comes with a price tag of $200,000 but Virgin Galatic expects prices to drop over time. Which I had that kind of cash laying around. _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT!

I do believe the company is called Virgin Galactic. Those trips may sound affordable compared to the price of a Space Adventures' flight but the problem is that no flights have even begun yet!
It should also be pointed out that Virgin Galactic's flights are sub-orbital spaceflights so you won't actually go anywhere other than around the Earth. Space Adventures on the other hand offer billionaires the chance to travel all the way to the International Space Station! |
