Also, Avatar is not a kids movie, I have no idea where you heard that from but it's not true. It also has shooting and stuff in it, I don't think a kids movie would have people shooting guns and killing people. |
I agree; Avatar is rated PG-13. That rating is right in the middle of the five ratings available from the MPAA so it isn't even that close to G! |

Avatar continues to dominate the box office into its THIRD weekend! It has now broken the $1 billion mark worldwide! Avatar has reached this total faster than any other movie before it. It was probably helped by the fact that no new movies were released this weekend at the turn of the year and/or decade.
Here is the chart as usual:

What do you think of Avatar's performance and its future? |

I predicted this movie would make more money than any other movie in history and so far it's looking like it has a great chance at doing that. I predicted that The Dark Knight would have a good chance at passing Titanic and it came pretty dang close. I want to see Avatar in the theater so I can say that I have seen the 3 biggest movies of all-time in the theater _________________ https://www.facebook.com/groups/moviesnshows/?ref=bookmarks |

It is now FOUR weekends in a row for Avatar according to studio weekend estimates. Avatar made an estimated $48.5 million over this past weekend at the domestic box office!
The studio weekend estimates can be found at: http://boxoffice.com/numbers/ as usual.
The next record Avatar has in its sights is none other than The Dark Knight's $533 million domestic gross which is the 2nd highest of all time. |

only problem that i have with the movie (without seeing it) is the fact that they took another movies title away from them. the cartoon avatar the last airbender has been working on a movie for several years now. which just seems odd that within a year there will be 2 totally different Avatar movies. _________________ Until you can be Boss of the month 13 times str8 : SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!!! |

I don't think Avatar really took The Last Airbender's title away from them given that James Cameron had already completed an 80-page script for Avatar as early as 1994. By comparison, the first episode of The Last Airbender was seen on television in 2005.
This would suggest that Cameron had already thought of the name Avatar for his new movie over a decade before The Last Airbender even hit Nickelodeon. |
