I believe it is also caused not only by lack of excersise but also we have alot of chemicals and preservatives now that they didnt have in food years ago.

That and alot of people worked on farms, manual labor, and everyone walked alot of places. If there was somewhere in your town you needed to go to, you pretty much walked. vehicles were usually for big group gatherings or going out of town. people really didnt use them to go down to the store etc Razz

since im going to school for mortuary science i wanted to tie that into my factoid here:

ashes when a person is cremated are not really ashes.

When the intense heat of a crematorium, cremates human remains, it is still not hot enough to destroy or burn down ALL the bone, so. . .. they scrape the bones into a collector then put the bone fragments in a machine called a 'cremulator' which is pretty much a very high tech blender. and then the end result is a grainy almost-sandy type texture. There are no real 'ashes' in it. It is all bone fragrmants!
