AB Rep (Reputation System)

We've added a new feature called AB Rep, which is short for Arcade Boss Reputation.

Anybody can rack up Credits, but AB Rep is earned from the Arcade Boss community for your contributions. Members can give and receive positive Rep and negative Rep. The sum is your AB Rep, and is displayed with your forum posts.

You can reward Arcade Boss members with positive Rep for:

- Making a helpful or interesting post, reply or game comment
- Contributing a game walk through or tutorial
- Posting a game play video
- Spreading the word about Arcade Boss
- Helping you out with games or website features
- Anything else that you like

You can smite members with negative Rep for:

- Being rude or overly argumentative
- Making only short low quality posts or other spamming


Your ability to give out AB Rep is limited to so use it wisely. Only members with enough posts may give AB Rep, and after you give Rep it takes several hours before you can give Rep again.

To give positive AB Rep, click the [+] button next to a forum post by the member.
To give negative AB Rep, click the [-] button

All AB Rep activity is logged and we will not tolerate abuse of the system. Try to keep your Reps more positive than negative.

I've seen this on some websites I go to that have to do with modding and everyone usually says +REP 4 Luv or something like that. Cool feature!

You guys are always adding something to keep players honest. I like that. People hate when they post a topic to a forum and they get garbage replies back. Which is a risk that you run when participation is compulsory. Very good idea. It is almost a suggestion of the "weight" someone has from their history in the forum.

A reputation is a reputation, so I don't think there's a limit to how high or low it can get.

Of course, you will stand out if your rep is above 10 or below -10.

Also i just wanted to add, as it's been several month's now, it really seem's to work well and it's another great addition to your site.

I think this is a really cool idea also. But with good ideas always comes someone who will make it tough for everyone else.

Its like on Yahoo answers, the thumbs up or thumbs down feature. Theres always that one person going around thumbing down everyone!

Which reminds me that personally i have had someone give me some AP Rep and someone keeps giving me negative rep.
