The Lion King 3D shows the other new movies who is king when it easily beat them out for the top spot domestically according to estimates this weekend! It grossed $29.3 million this weekend leaving last weekend's #1 movie Contagion with only half of that gross this weekend for the second spot at the box office.
One of the other new movies, Drive, made it to 3rd with a respectable $11 million despite its R rating. In contrast, I Don't Know How She Does It, clearly doesn't know how to do it at the box office as it didn't even break the $5 million mark in its first weekend.

| I can believe that Lion King beat up everyone at the box office. There is a whole new generation of kids that have never seen it on the big screen. My 6 year old is begging me to take her, but I am undecided. |

im taking my daughter to it this week...i hope they start doing this with all the older disney movies...id like to see finding nemo in 3d

Really looking forward to this movie, The Lion King is my daughters favorite movie, so I will definitely take her to see this.
It will be my first 3D experience 
The Lion King was a huge hit, so I'm sure this will be the same.
Very happy to see this movie come out.

Thats something I've never heard before anyway have fun. Ive only been to about 5-7 and 2 I Maxes. Don't bother going to 4D such a let down. |

Was it a surprise that The Lion King 3D REPEATED as the top grossing movie domestically this weekend despite being at FEWER locations than ANY of the FOUR new releases?  |
