Since Bomber liked the Who. He should like this group being how the are from The Hauge in the Netherlands.
And he placed "Golden Earring" as a group of my City of birth called
The Haque....
In those days there was another famous group coming from The Haque and this group was called "The Motions"
the song is called "Wasted Words" and is a kind of "protest-song"
One of the band-members, his name, Robbie van Leeuwen was leaving The Motions in the beginning of 1967 to start his own Band....
This new band in The Haque was called "Shocking Blue" ( famous song "Venus" ) first click normal to start and then in the middle, click the underlined words ( Embedding disabled by request )
The lead-singer was "Mariska Veres" and she lived at the same time in the same street ( on the opposite ) where I lived in that time
The street is called "Van Speykstraat" and our old house is still standing there, it was built in 1881..
In october 2006 when I was still working at the Airforce, Shocking Blue gave a performance on our Airbase Twenthe.
I went to the dressing room behind the stage and spoke to her about old times and she said to me that she was still living in our old street and she was married with the drummer of the band.... and she would appreciate it when I should come along, one day, with my wife....
2 months later she died on 2 december 2006
Everybody was in "Shock".....
Stange story... Sometimes I do think of her, and find it still unbelievable that she isn't here anymore
^^@ Bomber....That's an interesting story Thanks for sharing it's sad she died so suddenly like that . I have heard of both those groups and I also have a rare song/video from Shocking Blue (Marika Veres) ~ Paint It Black. This version is as good as the Rolling Stones too.
As for The Motions I don't remember them for that song. But this is the song that I remember from them.
I don't say this very often but this is the most ENTERTAINING music video I have seen in a VERY LONG time! I honestly can't remember a music video quite this stylish from start to finish!
Without further ado, here is アオイトリ Blue Bird performed by fumika:
See if you can spot the eponymous blue bird in the music video too!
The final trick for the ending is also fun!
