How many Green Day fans do we have here? Their music has changed for the better since the 1990's so if you didn't like them in the past then maybe check out their 2 newest albums.

I am just amazed at how they came out of nowhere with what I like to call a masterpiece....American Idiot which I think is the best rock album of the last decade. Then in 2009 they release 21st Century Breakdown which is another great album with some pretty amazing Green Day songs on it. I hate when people use the words masterpiece and amazing or incredible so much because to me it takes something REALLY great to be called that. For me, American Idiot is a masterpiece that has songs with some real meaning instead of just fun pop songs. 21st Century Breakdown is a LOT like American Idiot and a fantastic followup to their best album which can be hard to do.

I wasn't really a big fan of Green Day before 2004 but after I heard American Idiot I was blown away and they became one of my favorites and they proved they are here to stay with 21st Century Breakdown. Check out these 2 albums if you for some reason haven't yet.

I'll post one song here from their 2009 album which is the title track and it's an incredible song with amazing lyrics.

Let me know what you think of these 2 albums and Green Day's new musical direction.

One of my favorite Green Day songs has got to me "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" and American Idiot is up there too. I've always liked Green Day, some people say their songs are depressing, they have quite the opposite effect on me.

My favorite album is right around smack dab in the middle, not really extremely old or new, it's called "Nimrod". 18 tracks and every single one of them is brilliant.

I really liked Dookie, but I'm in agreement that American Idiot is pretty best.

My favorite tracks were "Extraordinary Girl", "She's a Rebel", and of course "Blvd of Broken Dreams".
