STEVENS PASS, Wash. — Three skiers were killed Sunday when an avalanche swept them about a quarter-mile down an out-of-bounds canyon at a popular resort, but a fourth skier caught up in the slide was saved by a safety device, authorities said.

yeah true there is allot of snow in an avalanche. But these people were in an out of bounds area. It had to be out of bounds for a reason.

I am super claustrophobic and being buries under anything would scare me to death. literally, before i suffocate i would probably stroke out or have a heart attack.

Oh god how scary!! my heart and prayers go out to the victims of the accident.

i dont ski because i am HORRIBLE at it and i use to snowboard all the time until i broke my collar bone because another boarder ran into me, anyways i never went back on the slopes.

but you can bet your bottom that if i do im taking a tracking device like that 4th hiker did!!
