A while back I discovered what appears to be a very large and highly detailed water formation West of Russia which creates the shape of a soldier kneeling into a trench and pointing his bayonet directly at St Petersburg.
Here is the link to my article...
http://withoutcapricorns.forumwise.com/withoutcapricorns-thread71.html
I call him "The Dodgy Soldier".
Check it out and feel free to leave comments. _________________

Thanks for fixing the link and that labeling that diagram! I wouldn't have been able to see the "soldier" without it. _________________

You could say "The world map is propaganda!"
Ahh if that's really there it's just the nut of all nuts. Lol. _________________

Intriguing. Also pretty cool that you were the first to notice this.
Mimal the chef is also an interesting find. Makes you wonder what other interesting geographical "figures" can be found around the world. _________________ The TGQ is the most fun section of the forums. Why does nobody post there anymore? |

I guess so Ernie. One thing I thought about recently was the idea that the cold war was just propaganda by both countries.
Neither country has actually ever gone to war with the other and since the consequences of such would result in total annihilation of each other it doesn't seem a likely scenario anyway.
I was theorising that the cold war was just a propaganda effort by both countries to persuade public consciousness that both countries had a good reason to retain their nuclear weapons.
In turn both Russia and US secretly rule the world together with approx 20,000 nukes between them, as a joint friendly power.
The modern world map is just a duplicate upon duplicate of an original template created by Russian/US satellites many, many years ago.
I don't think astronauts pay much attention to the coastline around those countries in their daily activities. You might in fact find that the coastline looks similar, but could be of varying detail that would in turn make the "soldier" effectively non existent.
Might be an interesting project to get an independent satellite view of this "Dodgy Soldier."

Well if you turn Africa upside down you have a Rhino's head.
Also India is shaped like the silhouette of Mohandas Gandhi dressed in his robes and walking into the distance.
A couple more I've noticed. _________________

The only suspicious "figure" on a map I've ever found on my own is California. Its shape is eerily similar to that of a human arm, and it's right where an arm would be if the United States had one.
I don't know if that counts. _________________ The TGQ is the most fun section of the forums. Why does nobody post there anymore? |
