I think it comes down to Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick but there are a couple others that are really close.
One reason why Kubrick is so legendary is because of his range of film making. He made one of the greatest comedies of all-time, one of the greatest horror movies of all time, one of the greatest war movies of all time and one of the greatest space (sci-fi) movies of all-time and probably another genre of movies that I am forgetting about. His style of directing was just wonderful and unique. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/groups/moviesnshows/?ref=bookmarks |

I have to give it to James Cameron.
Terminator was by far ahead of it's time and still my all time favorite.
How he came about to make Titanic still puzzles me. _________________ Don't Google it, Just Bing IT!

IMO James Cameron.
He directed the two most successful grossing movies of all time.
Avatar and Titanic are simple amazing, they both blew my mind away, I have watched Titanic several times, but have watched Avatar many times, and I think Avatar is the greatest movie ever made.
Getting impatient for Avatar 2, but like the first, great things take time.
After that movie he will have the top 3 grossing movies of all time.
Aliens is a timeless masterpiece.
Ghosts of the Abyss, stunning.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has made many of my favourite movies.
James Cameron was behind many of his great movies, The Terminator and Terminator 2, True Lies & Last Action Hero.
In my view the best writer & director ever.

Do you guys think Christopher Nolan could one day be in the discussion for greatest movie director ever? So far all of his 8 movies have gotten 75 % or higher on the rottentomatoes.com tomatometer with 3 of them being in the 90's.
Also, I can't believe how well Ben Affleck's directing career is going so far. Who knew? He could one day be called one of the greatest. All 3 of his movies are in the 90 % range at rottentomatoes.com _________________ https://www.facebook.com/groups/moviesnshows/?ref=bookmarks |

I believe the Greatest director of all time is Alfred Hitchcock. If he was born 20 years later, no one would even come close. He was waaaayyyyyy ahead of his time. |
