What would you like to see incorporated into ArcadeBoss ?

This thread is intended for the users of the site to make any suggestions that may help improve the site. I employ everyone to speak up and say what they would like to see added to the site and or make suggestions to enhance the site. Now it is up to the staff and ArcadeBoss as to whether or not these idea's or suggestions are possible.


I will start off with a few idea's of my own....

1) When someone goes to create an account I feel there should be a required box to check and or a link with the rules of the site and the person must accept the rules before they can finish creating their account. This will prevent anyone from saying they did not know the rules.

2) Add more medal games this would generate more traffic and game plays. Also, adjust some of the current medal games as the gold medals are next to impossible for example Chaos Fraction and Megaman X are way too high.

3) On the main page there is on the left and right side empty space on the bottom. I think this space could be filled by on the left adding top 10 in medals and top 10 in credits if needed to make it fit properly shorten the shoutbox slightly. On the right side add top 25 to BOTM and top 25 all-time scores.

4) On the forums page there is also a large space at the bottom on the left and the right too. Maybe fill this in with featured games like on the homepage or show the most popular games with the most plays ??

5) There are several games where there are limited or no instructions and or instructions in different languages that are difficult to understand. Could we add a set of full instructions to these games so that everyone can understand them or know the controls of these games ??

I usually add some extra instructions, I kind of fell back when I stopped making the images since it was part of the project and at the time descriptions were including them anyway.

If you give me some games that need instructions I will add them and some others if I find any myself.

The other suggestions are cool to consider.

Thanks Dr.Nurburg......Yes you do a very good job with the instructions and images. But I have seen a few games that are lacking complete instruction I will be happy to provide a list of games for you I will get that to you as soon as I can.

I definitely think that there should be more things available in the store. I am not sure what you would add, but I feel like three items is a tab bit low, don't you think? Maybe people can brainstorm ideas for new store items?

I would like to see rankings for players per game. I think it would be another way to showcase players achievements.

With so many great games on AB, it is difficult to remember which ones I have played, and which ones I have missed.

So, I was thinking: as well as displaying monthly and all-time high scores in the 'Arcade Boss Games Activities' lists, would it be possible to also show personal best scores?

Here is an example:
Go to Arcade > Sports Games. This brings up a list of all games in that category, and includes monthly and all-time highscores on the right side of the page. I can never remember how well I did in all the games in list, so it would be great if it could also state 'personal best' scores (i.e. the score that shows as 'Your All-Time Best' on each game page when we play).

For instance, in the 'Sports Games' page, in the 'Field Hockey' row, it would show:

I think it would be kind of cool if AB gave recognition awards for various accomplishments in the arcade and in the forums. I have seen this on other sites and looks something like this...



These are just some of the medal icons that are used on this particular site. They get displayed under your user name when you post in the forums but they can also be on your profile page.

Some examples for such medals could be...

100 games played in the arcade

100 posts in the forum

100 Tournament Wins

BOTM

POTM

etc. etc. etc.

The number '100' was just a number that came to mind. It could go up incrementally from a lower number.

For example once you have 50 games played in the arcade you could get this medal...



But once you reach 100 games played it could turn into this one...



I think it would offer some more incentive to the members to participate more in the arcade/tournaments and also post more in the forum.

Here is kinda what it might look like using my profile, I am quite confident that Dr. N could make it look really professional compared to my hack job!

Yes that is a good idea MOP. Alternatively we could just use the current Honor Medals data and have that displayed in your profile by posts.

But some extra data/medals would also be cool.
