Comet ISON is 3,100 miles wide and 57,000 miles long. It will make its closest approach past the Earth in November. When this happens it will be as bright as the full moon and visible in broad daylight for a number of weeks.
Before passing by the Earth, it will sling shot around the Sun. Whilst NASA say ISON will not hit the Earth, there is a possibility it may explode as it sling shots the Sun. Also, due to solar winds from the Sun, its 57,000 mile long tail will be blown out in front of it and in the direction towards which it travels.
So not to get anybody worried or anything but just thought I'd mention that something with a head the size of Australia and a tail twice the circumference of the Earth, could possibly explode as it sling shots around the Sun towards us in November. _________________
Hoping that we can see with the naked eye I will not lose this show and I will have an upturned nose..or I will make sure to procure a telescope lol
Surely it is a phenomenon so nice not to be missed!! TY astronomer Dr.Nurburg
Image that the government shut down and they are not concerned with this now this is no surprise to me. The government is a joke I bet if they would get a million $ a piece they would be all over it and this would still be in operation. Corruption at it's finest !!! Thanks for sharing this Dr. N very interesting _________________

Yes I know but, it's hard to find a government that's worth the 2 cents they get paid and they take enough of people's hard earned $ anyway through taxation.
Well I agree with you Dr.N you deserve a new suit _________________
In regards to the Comet Ison....Totally awesome. I will definitely be watching the skies for this event. Saw several of the meteors a month or so ago and it was so cool.
