Calif has changed in that time..

Say you come in from out of state and want to move here. You have owned the vehicle for less than a year or have a certain amount of miles (7,500) calif will charge you 7 percent sales tax on top of that.

What to bring a pickup to this thieving state they make all pickups without a camper shell commercial tags, and charge a Weight fee 90 bucks for a half ton plus excessive registration, 180 for a three quarter ton, plus registration and 270 plus for a one ton.

Forget running around with another states tags cause after, after 30 days they will stop you and impound your car for not getting new registration, also do not forget the toughest smog laws in the USA.

People say they leave Cali for the earthquakes but in reality they leave cause of the excessive tax gouging on everything.

That is just plain insane charging that kind of fees as taxes per vehicle.

Now the 30 day deal of getting fined if you have another states plates is the same in Florida and Ohio. Now you will be pulled over and ticketed for it but, they will not jump on impounding the vehicle unless you fail to comply with in a certain time after which I believe is 15 days.

Now Florida is big on emissions but, not nearly as big as Cali and in Ohio it's not that big of a deal.

Yeah I know I have always heard peps say I left Cali to get away from the earthquakes. But, I also know this is not the main reason they left Laughing

I know I would not want to live there the taxes are more than I wish to pay.

Huh, I still can't play games on AB because of the undersea cable fault. Rolling Eyes

And I got an urgent phone call today, asking me to help out in an office... in Hong Kong.
So... I'm flying out tomorrow and coming back beginning of May. My son is fine with that: he's like, "Meh..." but I don't think he really understands yet. That's something my wife will have to deal with tomorrow night when he realises I'm not there to read his bedtime story!
Gonna miss the little guy! Sad

I have been given a laptop to use while I am in HK, so I am not completely cut off! I've never tried paying AB games on a laptop, so that will be something interesting to try!

Can you believe, when I left the Philippines, the temperature was 35degC and when I arrived in Hong Kong, the temperature was 19degC! Big dfference! Icon_jaw-dropping

I had forgotten the convenience of Hong Kong; nearly everything is available within a few minutes walk of the office. And if it's not nearby, there are taxis passing every few seconds, and cheap buses to take you wherever you want to go. Cool

I'm almost tempted to think about looking for permanent work in HK again!
