After being on top of the domestic box office for 3 straight weekends, Guardians of the Galaxy has finally been toppled by a new movie namely No Good Deed.

No Good Deed earned an estimated $24.5 million at the domestic box office to take the top spot from the other new movie opening called Dolphin Tale 2. The family-friendly sequel barely met its expectations and it did worse than the original did back in 2011.

You can see the box office estimates at:

What did you think of either of the two new movies opening this weekend? How did you think any of the movies did this weekend at the box office?

I just saw the preview of 'No Good Deed'. It reminded me of movies like Cape Fear and Misery... But it's only a PG-13? Really?? Shocked
I think this could be a very disturbing film for young teenagers.
It will be interesting to hear the views from anyone who sees it.

Yes, it really is a PG-13 film. Both Cape Fear and Misery were R-rated films but they were from 1991 and 1990 respectively.

This means that what was R-rated back in 1991 or 1990 is probably PG-13 by today's standards given the fact that over 20 years have passed since then!

Yes, you're right. Attitudes change as the years go by. When "A Clockwork Orange" was released in 1971, it caused an outcry because of its theme and graphic use of violence. Watch it nowadays and you think, "Yes, it's a great milestone movie, but why did it get all those complaints?" The answer is simply because what is acceptable to show now, was taboo then.

Yes, or simply IMPOSSIBLE! Take video games for example, Mortal Kombat was originally released in 1992 and it was known as a violent, gory game back then.

It should also be noted that it's not just attitudes that have changed since then but advancements in special effects and technology have allowed such visuals to be displayed now that were IMPOSSIBLE to display back in 1992! The 2011 version of Mortal Kombat is way more violent and graphic because the creators were able to make use of such technology that simply did NOT exist back in 1992!
